Vanishing Howard County: 

A COLLABORATIVE ART EXHIBITION BY the ARTISTS' GALLERY
 TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF

THE HOWARD COUNTY CONSERVANCY

The show, first on exhibit at the Artists' Gallery March 1 - April 2, 2010
 will continue at the Conservancy's Gudelsky Environmental Education Center September 1 through November 1, 2010. 

 

 
 

“WATER MEDIA" AT LAKESIDE CAFÉ IN SEPTEMBER
The Lakeside Café in the American City Building will host an exhibition of work in water-based media , by Artists’ Gallery members , in conjunction with the show, “WOMEN” at the Artists’ Gallery, American City Building, 10227 Wincopin Circle, Columbia, MD.
 

 
Our members routinely enter competitions, take workshops, have shows at venues other than the Artists' Gallery.  Here you will find updates about what we are doing.
WINNIE COGGINS:
 AUGUST

2010

Three ceramic sculptures by Winnie Coggins are part of Hood College's juried show, "Hand Thrown: From Tradition to Contemporary Expression," in the Hodson Gallery. Work will be on exhibit August 6 - 23, 2010.
 
DEBORAH MAKLOWSKI:
 2010 Deborah Maklowski recently earned Signature membership in the Colored Pencil Society of America when her drawing "What's Next?" was juried in to the CPSA's 18th Annual International Exhibition, to be held this year in Los Gatos, California.

JOHN STIER:    
March 2010 The Art League: "Carolyn's Curlers" - honorable mention (Got a mention by the juror in her statement too)
March 2010 Nature's Best Magazine Backyards Photo Contest: "Virginia Garden" The photo will be featured in the Spring/Summer 2010 issue which will come out around  May 1, 2010.  About 30 photos were selected out of 5,000 submitted so I feel very privileged to have been picked.
BARBARA STEINACKER:

Juror's Statement: In Barbara Steinacker’s “Stream-Lined,” Berthold Schmutzhart quickly observed, “The artist made a conscious decision to do away with reality in the foreground and to draw our attention to the middle of the painting with detail and strong complementary colors.  This is an artist who is thinking.” (689 entered, 149 accepted)
